Managing Your Performance Evaluation
All of us at NMSU receive an annual performance evaluation. We all take pride in the work we perform at the University, and rightfully expect the performance evaluation to reflect and capture the contributions and accomplishments we've made throughout the year. The year-long performance management process is a partnership between the employee and supervisor. The focus of this 2 hour session is to provide employees with tips on preparing for and receiving their annual performance evaluation. Discussions will emphasize the importance of employees documenting and tracking their own performance, developing skills and knowledge, clarifying supervisory expectations and asking for feedback throughout the year, and periodically revisiting goals and objectives for the evaluation period. Tips will also be provided on how to get ready for a performance evaluation discussion with the supervisor, effectively managing ones frame of mind during the annual evaluation, and the importance of asking questions and providing feedback and suggestions to the supervisor.
This training, facilitated by the NMSU Center for Learning and Professional Development, is facilitator led information and discussions with a great deal of interaction by participants.
