Computer and Data Security
The purpose of this face-to-face Computer and Data Security training workshop is to introduce participants to the most critical threats to our computing environment and the actions individuals must take to safeguard those threats. This workshop also covers what is considered responsible use of New Mexico State computing resources, including careful protection of confidential college data. Participants will use lecture, hands-on, group discussion, and power point slides to learn the following: New Mexico State University General Acceptable Use Policies, Institutional Data Security Policy, Password Maintenance Policy and the Do and Don’t of most common security mistakes. Workshop participants will be given a training manual that will be used throughout this workshop.
