2022 Annual Strategic & Essential Training

Strategic & Essential Training (SET) Program

New Mexico State University is committed to providing a safe and harassment free environment for its students, employees and visitors, as well as equal employment opportunities in all areas of occupation. It is also committed to protecting the assets of the university, students, employees, and individuals connected with the university. A key component in achieving these commitments is ensuring that employees are trained on their responsibilities related to applicable state and federal codes, laws, and regulations.

In accordance with ARP 6.89, NMSU employees, regardless of hours worked or hiring type, must complete the Annual SET Certification as a condition of employment.

Annual SET Modules

The 2022 Annual SET Certification corresponds to the performance evaluation year (calendar year) and includes the following modules.

What’s New for 2022

** To improve completion rates, employees (as well as their supervisors) will receive additional overdue notifications via email if SET is not completed 30 days after enrollment.  These notifications will serve as reminders that training must be completed in a timely manner. We encourage all employees to complete SET as soon as they are enrolled to avoid these notifications.

** Supervisors should continue to use the Team Dashboard in Training Central to monitor the completion of SET. For more information on how to use the Team Dashboard, visit the Help Documents in Training Central. Please remember that the Center for Learning & Professional Development (CLPD) will not send monthly completion reports to departments or colleges.

** Enrollments will be staggered based on job type to align with the academic calendar, ease the burden on managers monitoring employees’ progress, and reduce the Training Central system load.
