Onboarding Training

New Mexico State University is committed to providing a safe and harassment free environment for its students, employees and visitors, and equal employment opportunities in all areas of occupation. A key component in achieving these commitments is ensuring that employees are trained on their responsibilities related to applicable State and Federal codes, laws, and regulations.

In accordance with ARP 6.89, NMSU employees, regardless of hours worked or hiring type, must complete Strategic & Essential Training (SET) certifications as a condition of employment.

Onboarding Training Modules

New Employees (all hiring types)

New employees will be enrolled in the appropriate Annual SET Certification and an Onboarding SET Certification.  The Onboarding SET Certification addresses critical “start of employment” information and will have a 14 day completion due date. 

The Onboarding SET Certification will include general, start of employment information on the following topics:

  • SET Overview
  • Computer & Data Security
  • Employee Safety & Loss Control
  • Introduction to the Office of Institutional Equity (OIE)
